The GLN comprises a community of CEOs from manufacturing facilities and value chains using Industry 4.0 technologies to improve processes and develop workforce skills that can be scaled across the production chain. Industry 4.0 technologies are said to be accelerating environmental sustainability, igniting transformation across businesses and putting people at the center of innovation — all while boosting productivity.

According to an article from McKinsey, the GLN has seen an industry-spanning common denominator emerge: the most viable way to turn the Industry 4.0 blueprint into reality is to put an empowered workforce, with the ability to use all of the technologies fully, at the center of digital transformation.
